The S&P BSE Sensex rallied over 100 points in morning trade to hit its fresh 52-week high of 29,132.95, led by gains in ICICI Bank BSE 0.86 %, HDFC, Tata Motors BSE 3.14 %, Axis Bank BSE 0.29 %, and ITC BSE -0.58 %.
The Nifty50 recorded its fresh 52-week high of 8,989.50, supported by gains in IT, power, oil & gas, metal, capital goods, banks, and auto stocks.
The 30-share index was trading 115 points higher or 0.40 per cent at 29,099. It touched a 52-week high of 29,132.95 and a low of 29,081.17 in morning trade.
The Nifty50 was trading at 8,978 up 32 points or 0.36 per cent. It touched a 52-week high of 8,989.50 and a low of 8,877.85 in the first 30 minutes of trade.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index hit fresh all time high and was trading 0.45 per cent higher and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was also recorded its fresh record high was trading 0.43 per cent up.
Tata Motors (up 1.7 per cent), Asian Paints BSE 0.61 % (up 1.2 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 1.1 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.92 per cent), and GAIL India (up 0.91 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers.
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories BSE -1.23 % (down 1.5 per cent), ITC (down 0.5 per cent), and Power Grid BSE -0.70 % (down 0.44 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.
